Seasoned player who doesnt understand about botting
I understand the whole principle of botting. A player sets up some computer program to keep the game running the whole time, but ive heard people refer to them as being able to pump money into the economy. I dont understand how this is possible. I know i farm my arse off trying to make money, but it still takes alot of skill to navigate through the maps and everything. How exactly does a bot program make the player money. I have heard people say they see players all running around town but i dont understand how it helps them except that they stay connected all the time. If someone can explain to me how exactly this works it would be appreciated. Up to this point i have no clue how people can do anything with a computer program running their players!!! I still die often when farming if im not paying attention!

A bot is a finely tuned program that will do everything you do while farming. It will run to an area, aggro creatures, and once it senses it has them all, it will start a sequence of spells. Once it kills everything on its own, it proceeds to pick all the items up, ports to town, and goes again.
I'm assuming once its inventory gets full it alerts the person "supervising" the bot, and he sells everything and starts up the program to keep farming. Basically its a computer doing the farming with no one needed except a player to sell items. |

Now all the botters need is a program that sells their junk, identifies the items they want, spams Lion's Arch to trade those items, then post their uber leet stuff on a random message board! Who needs to actually play the game...

I think botting right now will help the economy alot by getting stuff out for people to buy and sell and starting to set prices. once its formed they shouldnt run though

No, Bots are what tends to blow the prices sky high. Also, most bots are for the person's own selfish needs, and simply used to get their money up to huge proportions.
90% of the people using Bots couldnt give a crap about the economy or other players. |

thats just amazing to me for that to happen. I couldnt even imagine how you would imput code into a program like to know where to go, how to pick up sutff and so on. it just seems insane to me! I hate people who cheat like that..i definitely think there should be some sort of visual code to imput when u start a mission or if there were a way for ANET to only do it for people who are suspected of cheating like that and just boot them off server. No need to erase their accounts, just boot them plain and seimple...like a server unavailable message so they cover their arses. The Servers could run a program or something that picks up continually the same patterns and then just kicks them off if they couldnt confirm a visual code. Who knows but i think it would work
